Cheerleading Europeans 2016

Bailey just got back from Cheerleading Europeans. The qualifying winter sports teams traveled to Wiesbaden, Germany for the week to compete against other schools. The first part of the week, the cheerleaders cheered for the Basketball games and then on the last 2 days, they have individual and team competitions. There were 19 schools represented this year - inluding Turkey, Bahrain, Italy, Spain, Germany, England, and Belgium, It is really a neat opportunity. Over the years, Bailey has gotten to know quite a few kids from other schools, so it is a bit like one big reunion. Just the opportunity to hang out with your team and stay in a hotel for a week is lots of fun too ;-)! Her team had a great performance, but didn't quite have the same difficulty as the top 3 teams so they didn't place. It was great though because they had live streaming, so our parents could watch in the wee hours of the morning from the U.S.too. Her school is in the biggest division, so the competition can be fierce. Bailey tried out individually for the All - European Team (she had to do an individual compulsary routine and different skills in front of a video camera - Yikes). I was proud of her for trying. She hasn't found out the results yet, because the videos had to be sent back to the U.S. for judging.  She had a really fun, yet exhausting week. Now they have a one week break and soccer season begins!!! Never a dull moment :-)

Such great girls on her Team!

It was a fun - yet exhausting week!

Heading out on the floor!

The German and American Flags. We laughed because Mia has officially now leanred the pledge of Allegiance, but now realized that she still has to learn the Star Spangled Banner :-). She knows the German anthem though :-)

Over 19 schools and 8 Countries were represented...

Bailey's team watching the other teams...

The judging for each team took a long time! Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of them on the floor. I have video, but no photos :-(

One Mom made signs for each of the girls. Mia made a big sign for Bailey too :-)

Vilseck!

Each team had introductions...

The girls after their performance

A fun week!
