Lots of Changes / July pics...

Well, it is official... after 9 years in beautiful Germany, we are moving back to the U.S. Crazy how life can change in such a short time. We moved here before... facebook existed, before smartphones were the norm, before Mia was completely potty trained, before Bailey was 10, before Camden was in 2nd grade, before I had grey hair, before we could speak German, before we even knew where all of the countries in Europe were located on a Map. Crazy how time has changed! We are heading to the U.S., Bailey is heading to Canada, and our life in Germany will (for now) come to an end. Too many changes for us to really even comprehend! Anyway... As our life is in complete chaos (Mia hasn't even finished school yet, the movers come soon, we have already begun our goodbye's and we are preparing to say our biggest goodbye when we bring Bailey to Quebec in August), I cannot even imagine having lived my life without this amazing experience. The people that we have befriended, the experiences that we have had, and the time as a family that we have enjoyed, bring me so much happiness!! And now, we will have a new adventure ahead - lots of changes and lots to look forward to, but so much in the past 9 years to be grateful for...so unbelievably grateful!!! Here are some random photos from July...

Sweet Mia and our friends' guinea pig

Our great friends' hosted a goodbye barbecue for us! So many amazing people that we have befriended in the last 9 years!!!

Roasting Marshmallows!

The sunflower frields are in full bloom!!!

Camden at his best friends' house

9 years has a lot of history! So happy Cam's friend will join us in Maine this summer!

Lots of goodbye's to say...

Sweet Mia!!!

Can you spot her???

This was utterly fascinating...Mia's school has been around since the early 1900's. There is a photo of each gradutaing class on the wall since the school started...amazing how times have changed- really makes you stop and think...

Hard to believe this place exists...!!!

We added a second lock to the bridge - just to be safe :-)

Beautiful Bamberg (we have spent the last 3 weekends there)

We will so miss this Country!!!

The mom of one of Mia's best friends - so many great people we have met along the way!!!

Such good people!!!

changing the subject a bit.. we just learned of a bomb bunker that existed not far from our old house in Bamberg. Approx. 200 bombs were dropped in this area during WW2 - such a different life in 2017!!!

And Xuey (Mia) and one of her best friends - so hard to say goodbye!!!

The "Mariahilfberg fest" - up on the hill in our town...

The fest lasted 8 nights - we were able to head up for several of them....

Such a fun time!!!

And finally, the Gelato stand - love these 2 girls!!!

May/June Random Pics...

Ice cream in Prague!

We spent a fun weekend in Prague...

with great company!

The Astronomical clock was under renovation :-)

Mia's new found obsession - hair braiding! She does such a good job and sends me photos of  her friends' hair after Mia "does it up"

Mia and one of her very best friends from Bamberg! They went on an 8 hour hike together in the Pentacost Vacation!

The hike was a pilgrimage walk on the Way of Saint James (you can follow the shell sign through the trails all the way to Spain!!!)

They had to entertain themselves  along the way :-)

more of Mia's creations....

She does a great job!

Mia and her friend went to an amusement park during the break too - she sent me this photo (HILLARIOUS!!!)

And this one too! - She went on this ride - CRAZY!! Bailey is the daredevil in the family and so I was SHOCKED that Mia would dare to go! (she was not too thrilled, but her friend really wanted to go on it - yikes!!!

We went back to Bamberg and visited Memmelsdorf - to share one of our favorite places :-)

More Prague Pics...

You have to rub this for good luck!!!

This is a common site here (a snail). It is funny because instead of calling kids "sweetie" in German, they often call them "Schnecke" which means snail! (Mia took this photo by our front door)

Ok - this is quite funny.. Bailey is working at a Cafe/Bar/ice cream place this summer. The German equivilent to High School graduates ALL celebrate their finishing of school on the same day. Students from different Gymnasiums all wear the matching shirts and walk around the city to celebrate (this is consistent throughout Bavaria). Bailey's ice cream stand got turned into a Liquor store for the day! Only in Germany!!!
This is the English Garten in Munich. We took the train with some friends and rented bikes for the day - such a fun time!!! (the question is... how many Germans can fit into a river :-))

The famous Tower near Bryan's work...

Mia had another Tennis tournament...

More pictures from the English Garten in Munich... (Here is the Chinese Pagoda - it is 2nd largest beer garden in the world!!)

My friend from Hong Kong celebrated her 50th birthday and invited us all for Spring Rolls - so yummy!!!!

Bailey's end of the Year Soccer Awards...
Mama Mia!!!

Mia playing with friends by the lake...

Such fun memories!!!!
