July Pics

The summer is flying by, and even though Mia hasn't finished school yet, I wish that time would slow down! We've had some gorgeous weather too, which seems to make everything good. It has been so nice having Bailey and Camden at home. During the school year, they aren't home for most of the daylight hours, so is really nice just being able to enjoy them. Mia has been busy with end of the year school activities. They have 2 project days (where they are learning to make homemade sun dials), a school fest, a train trip to the zoo, a trip to the movies etc.. Her class is a fun group. We all met last night at a bier garten and all of the kids ran around and played while the parents chatted. She will stay with this same bunch of kids for as long as we are able to stay here - so it is especially nice getting to know the other families.  We are still waiting to see what our future brings with regard to being able to stay over here. Hopefully we will hear something soon. In the mean time, just continuing to try to make the most of this experience :-) Here are some random pictures...

This was funny (or maybe not)....When Bailey and I were in Romania, we had a bunch of extra converted money so we decided to buy a bunch of different Romanian sweets to bring home for the rest of the family. It was euro-cup time and I thought this one looked cool (so we bought 5 - one for each of us). We got home and Camden opened his right away and ate the entire thing.  Later we discovered that it was filled with Rum (this is often the case that candy is filled with Liqor, but mixed in with the normal stuff). Poor Camden had his first shot equivilent. He later said that it didn't taste good at all, but he was just trying to be nice :-)

Sorry that this is sideways, but it was cute - so I had to share. Mia and her friends often make homemade cards for birthdays and such. This one had Mia's "tip for life" written on it. It says... Always be yourself... unless you can be a Unicorn, and then you should be a Unicorn. :-)

 

Mia had "Dirndl day" at school, where all of the kids wear Dirndls and Lederhosen. Adorable! She is so German!!

so pretty!

It is easy to see why Disney copied the idea!

,,,and then we went to Garmisch. This was the typical Bavarian Dancers in a restaurant we went to. Picture Chevy Chase in European Vacation doing his slapping that got him run out of town :-)

And this is the Zugspitz - the tallest Mountain in Germany (you can see the top - ABOVE the clouds!!!). 

Garmisch is like something out of a postcard - So pretty!!!

And then back in Bamberg - we went to the Wunderburg Church Fest 

And to a huge Magic show that lasted the entire weekend in Bamberg. This was a little guy perforning between acts...

To be honest, the Magic Festival was just too crowded. It was nice to take a break away from the crowds!
