| This was taken right before school started - I love how happy and relaxed Bailey looks. The nice thing is - she comes home each day with a smile just like this one. When your kids are happy - you are happy :-) |
So... the excitement of the beginning of school is such a funny thing... You prepare and anticipate, but you never know how everything will pan out. Last year, we were all pretty spoiled. Bailey and Camden finished the school year with more teachers than students. Because of the school closing forever, there became a bond and familiarity among those left at the end. It was pretty unusual, but a pretty cool experience none-the-less. Being such a weird year, I was honestly a little worried about how a "normal" school year would greet them. As much uniqueness that a ridiculously small school brought, the same uniqueness comes with a larger school. Bailey and Camden are settling in and it is really fun to see how happy they are. They both have found new friends - it is amazing how quickly kids adapt! Only 2 weeks into school and there has already been a sleepover and other invitations (even one to Berlin - yikes!) - so grateful that the transition seems to be going so easy. After 5 years of Camden playing on a German soccer team (and getting a tad burned out), he is now playing on an American team and loves it. Bailey made the Cheerleading squad and couldn't be happier. Keeping up with the school work is going well too. With a new school year, a new town, and a new school, you never know how things are going to turn out - just counting my blessings that all is good so far! (now if I can just get Mia to not miss her old school every single day - we are still working on that one ;-))
