Lichtenfels Korb Markt Fest

A few weeks ago, we went to a famous basket market festival in the city of Lichtenfels. I had never been there before, but the city is adorable and the basket market was really quite impressive. There were tons of stands with handmade baskets (you could watch people making them). They even had a children's corner, where for only 5 euro, the kids (or adults) could make their own baskets. It is an annual festival, and thousands of people attend each year. A fun day!
Cool art being weaved...

Old Fashioned carnival music

This photo made me laugh - these are boxes full of individual schnaps that are for sale (it wouldn't be a German festival without beer, wine, and schnaps... )

oodles and oodles of baskets... most were priced very reasonably

Lichtenfels was a really cute town

Always a church steeple (or 2 or 3) in the town center

This was fantastic - for 5 euro, you could make your own basket! The baskets being made were quite nice too!

They had a fog machine with branches (in lieu of a playground :-) The kids had fun!

A huge basket at the entrance

Another huge basket being built throughout the weekend
